A classically trained pianist initiated into Jazz improvisation, endowed with an Electro soul and imbued with a Hip-Hop feeling, Stephen Besse plays music naturally marked by the seal of diversity.
He likes to present himself as a "360° Pianist" playing simultaneously bass, harmonies and rhythms thanks to a set of keyboards/machines, and currently performs in the power duo POTSIKEI under the pseudonym MAÅSS.
Stephen has also performed with this sprawling technique in France and internationally (China, Colombia, New York, Reunion Island, Mexico, Egypt...) in the cine-concert LES MONDES FUTURS and the live-cinema DÉJÀ-VU.
In parallel, he develops DJ mixing (drum & bass) under TONN FORT, as well as a live machine (techno) under his Berlin name STEFFEN VON BESS.
As a musician and activist for many years, he is president of the association Le LAB.O whose mission is to support local electronic music initiatives.
Drawing on his experience as an artist, educator and cultural player in modern music, he also offers "Lab.O Electro" workshops: Playing and discovering the timbres of the legendary TR-808 / TR-909 drum machines and TB-303 / MOOG synthesizers.

In the beginning, electronic music vibrated to the beats of the legendary TR-808 and TR-909.
Today, VON BESS revives this essence with a radical approach: A wild Techno/Breakbeat sculpted in real time on two modern drum machines, "Pērkons HD-01" which restore electronic rhythm to its former glory.
His live performance then reveals a whole bestiary, between frenetic pulsations and ferocious percussions.
